The new bike is supported by an entirely new powder-coated steel trellis frame, with the subframe built of pressure die-cast aluminum, similar to the 1290 Super Duke, as opposed to the older lightweight split-steel trellis frame. A redesigned curved cast swingarm with an offset-mounted monoshock and the 390 Duke's underbelly exhaust are some additional components. Therefore, it is asserted that the redesigned chassis would modify the overall rigidity, providing a superior feel and stability when pushed to the limit. The ergonomics of riding and the seat height have also altered. Now standard on the 2024 KTM 390 Duke is an adjustable seat height of 820mm. Additionally, KTM provides the 390 Duke with an optional 800mm high seat.
Engine Comparison: New vs. Old 2024 KTM 390 Duke
The new 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is the most significant modification to the updated 390 Duke. The latest generation's larger engine is rated for 44bhp and 39Nm of peak torque, whereas the current generation's KTM 390 Duke's 373.2cc single-cylinder motor delivers 43.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The new 399cc motor's bore and stroke measurements, 89mm and 64mm, are identical to those of the Triumph Speed 400. The new motorcycle also has a larger airbox and an improved gearbox, catalytic converter, and engine head.
Hardware Comparison: 2024 KTM 390 Duke: New vs. Old
Hardware-wise, the 2024 version has upside-down front forks that are 43mm WP and have 5-step compression and rebound adjustability. An offset mono-shock with 5-step rebound and tool-adjustable preload is installed in the rear. Notably, the India-spec version will also have front and rear suspension adjustments. The braking system has a new 320mm front disc, a 240mm rear disc, dual-channel ABS, cornering, and Supermoto ABS. While the Indian version is anticipated to roll on MRF/Apollo rubber tyres to keep costs down, the bike is now mounted on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels covered with Michelin tyres.The present design, in contrast, uses a 10-step adjustable rear mono-shock and non-adjustable 43mm inverted front forks to provide suspension. A 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc are responsible for braking.
New vs. Old 2024 KTM 390 Duke: Features
All-LED lighting, a slip & assist clutch, a quick-shifter, Supermoto ABS, and a 5.0-inch TFT display are features that both versions have in common. However, a new TFT console included with the new-generation model has connected capabilities including call & audio control, turn-by-turn navigation, and smartphone connectivity.
In addition, the bike from 2024 gains a warning light switch, new illuminated switchgear, cruise control, self-cancelling indicators, and three riding modes: Street as the default, Rain, and Track. The 2024 revision additionally has Launch Control, which only functions when the Track mode is activated. KTM claims that as a result, the power delivery is crisper than before and the revs increase to 7,000rpm.

The 2024 edition is anticipated to be released in India in the upcoming months, perhaps over the holiday season. The estimated price range for the forthcoming 390 Duke (ex-showroom) is between Rs. 3.20 lakh and Rs. 3.30 lakh. Currently, the ex-showroom cost of the current generation model is Rs 2.97 lakh. The motorcycle will be produced in the Bajaj Auto Chakan plant, which is close to Pune.
